About the Artist
Artist's Statement
My work is influenced by the early abstract expressionists and by the art,
myth and symbolic imagery of non-western cultures. Being unconcerned about
controlling the product is common in my work. The process, the doing, is most important.
Abstraction frees me from the constraints of the conventional. I am sometimes inspired
by the real world or simply by patterns and colors. Whether spontaneous
or meticulously planned, my work is an internal journey into unexplored territory.
The journey is to the boundary between chaos and order, abstract and real.
